Hey. They're fronts... 9j front wide wheels
235 too much stretch. 255 will rub the archers getting 30 profile just in case they rub.

A 30 profile is going to mean a lot less sidewall height than the stock tyres. About 3cm, total!

I would surprised if that doesn't cause some serious handling and/or ride issues. It might also cause anything that uses wheel speed data (ABS, stability control, speedo etc) to malfunction.

I'm not sure what the best solution is for a 9J front, but I'd imagine that a 35 profile tyre and more -ve camber or arch rolling are better ideas than switching to rubber bands.

People run 225/35/19's on the front with no problem. 245/30 would probably have around the same size sidewall.

30% of 245mm is 73.5mm, so just a bit more than the 3cm you suggested

35% of 225mm (which I ran in the past) is 78.75mm, so just over 5mm more. Hardly much in the grand scheme of things.

3cm less, i.e. you'd need 3cm of additional arse fat to compensate.
