I went to France for the rugby last weeekend and I learned that the Gendarmes
really don't like it when you:
(A) go 169km/h in a 110km/h zone.
(B) drive the wrong way up a one-way border crossing control lane and then
drive around their security barrier as you panic and realise what you have
just done. It's probably not a good idea to then try to reverse backwards -
it doesn't actually undo what you're just done.
I'd highly recommend not doing either of these things. They shout at you for
it. A lot. And fine you money. And laugh at you about the rugby score when
they see your nationality on your passport. And make you miss your ferry home.
