2 run flats & 2 non rft's

To be fair also Falken 452's are cutting corners also as there not really a high end performance tyre but a budget performance tyre.

+1

I wouldn't even say they are a performance tyre, they are listed by tyre specialists as "mid range"

However, if you drive in the mid range they are acceptable, depends on what you want out of them really. Like Granny always said, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"

Agree, but better to have 4 Falkens then have just 2 on the rear and 2 RFTs on the front.

I haven't really looked into what brand of tyre to buy yet as mine don't need replacing for a while.
Just seen the falkens mentioned a bit.

So who makes a decent performance tyre?
I've used toyos on my old skyline and found them good, but that's a different kinda car.

+1 for that site. Very good and trustworthy reviews.

I had exactly this dilemma when I bought my Z. I read loads of posts about the subject, and the bottom line seemed to be that you should replace all 4 tyres at once. Well I decided that I could not afford to do it all at once, so I changed the fronts to Michelin PS2 non run flat and left the run flats on the rear. I ran like this for 3 months without any problems at all until I could afford to do the rears.

I don't know where everyone gets there tyres from, but I found Kwik Fit to be the cheapest as long as you book and pay on line. I paid £234 a pair for PS2's in 225 45 17 and later £236 for PS3's (PS2's are getting harder to find now).

try camskill.co.uk

Ryukin, dont worry about mixing the tyres for a couple of months, just be aware that the grip levels will be different front to back. With normal unspirited road driving it wont make a scrap of difference.

Falkens are alright, but they are a budget option. I would prefer to spend a little more personally.

Thanks peddy, they do look cheaper at camskill. I assume those prices do not include fitting though so there probably isn't a massive difference. Nice to know though.

Peddy - thanks for the link. I think I will be going Pirelli Pzero or continental contact sport next time! (which ever is offering the best deal)

the brindgestone potenza runflats are $800 each in AUS or 500GBP each!

Wow... Are all tyres that expensive in Australia or just that particular make because It might be cheaper then to get them imported. :o

Which Conti's were you thinking? I need a new set and was considering CS 5P.

Just and update - I bought a full set in the end. Thought I might as well as it saves me getting it done again later. Good thing is I've now got two spare Bridgestone RFT's with plenty of tread :) They should come in handy. Thanks to everyone for their advice. Really appreciate it.
