The alternator light came on the other day (battery shaped icon I assume is alternator).
It was fine all day and only came on for 3 short journeys in the evening (the 3rd being the last time I drove the car that day)
Hasn't been on since. Sign the alternators on its way to alternator heaven?


Also, I still have a very loud whistle from the passenger side. It's really irritating for any passengers when doing over 50mph. Can't seem to narrow it down to exactly where, but it's definitely where the window and roof meet somewhere. Help.
 
The battery light is only indicating an issue with the charging current, not an issue with a specific part. It could be the alternator, but it could be a few other things related, slipping belt, faulty wiring, faulty battery. Further investigation is required to determine the actual cause.

Persistent wind noise from the window could mean a perished seal, or possibly an alignment issue with the window track or door, or possibly even the roof frame itself. It could also be the motor mechanism not fully closing the window.
