Pointless post.. but as my last couple have been moaning about broken things, I'd thought I'd add some balance.. I'm not miserable honest!

Took the car out yesterday for a long drive lotus elise was tucked up ( flat battery ) so the roadster it was. Roof down heater on making a warm air blanket as the wife calls it, we just went for a drive ignoring the front rattle ( meyle hd kit in the way ) and the airbag light ( again door loom on the way ) popped the sport button on gave it weight on the loud pedal and that engine noise in the cabin is awesome, seems previous owner removed both sponges from the noise generator, still not as loud as the elise inside.. which is a blessing! When the wife drove she certainly enjoyed the higher revs / noise, shes does pedal a car well!?!..

The M54 really is a different beast in this car compared to our 330ci same lump but so much more engaging car.. I am in love especially now the 108s have been refurbed. It's not going to take place of the elise BUT its magnificent in its own way. 8) and I know it's not a coupe or an Z4m but reckon it's the 3.0i is pretty much as fun to drive on public roads.

I'm also a hero in my wife eyes as I fixed the cd changer (blown fuel on back of unit easily accessed from the boot) even if it now means her cd collection is in the car.. still got my old faithless and red hot chilli peppers cds in there though.. bloody ABBA.. looking forward to getting the niggles sorted, we're even talking getting bodywork sorted back to factory fresh next year.. but not before I get my m140.

Here's to many more miles of smiles!

Nice read, these cars are something else aren't they  All that's missing are some pics of your P&J

Thanks, its a shame really the previous owners loved it they had it as an ex demo its just lost some of the tlc it needed over time, which it will get from me :) Pictures would be good, need to sort some decent ones but here's a few snaps of it and the others since getting it but not been busy out driving it / fixing it ( giving it the tlc it needs ) or working at the moment hahaa

I know the z4 always comes in for some stick on the seloc forum, but like yourself I've owned an Elise & my z4 for getting on for 3 years now. I agree with your thoughts, not as engaging perhaps as the lotus but still very satisfying to use-glad you're bonding with your car
