My fuel cap seal was cracked and flagged as an advisory on it's recent MOT. Funnily enough I had recently smelt an occasional waft of fuel in the garage, but with several cars bikes and mowers in there I hadn't pinned it down. It took two minutes to replace the seal (£5 from ebay or £10 OEM) and is a cheap and easy fix for fuel smells/leaks also potentially fluffy idling and EVAP fault codes P0455 P0456 P0440 P0442, so is worth checking as our cars get older and modern fuel attacks rubber seals.
