2 litre is a sh!t motor or....?

I have 2006 3.0si and I frequently do a 100 mile round trip on weekend to the Pocono Mountains and driving the speed limit which is 65 MPH on the turnpike using cruise control. I will get about 38 US miles per gallon for the round trip. I think everything considered that is excellent.... :driving: :thumbsup:

So you're becoming tempted.

Out of curiosity and assuming you are in Estonia, how much is petrol, insurance and tax and of course the car itself. Interested how it compares to the UK
 
tax ... if you mean VAT it's 18%. It's usually included in purchase price.

insurance.. we have 2 types, one third party, one is full liability - so overall for Z4 it will be around 1500 euros per year or so. It is LESS then for my E90 btw. ;) Go figure, i guess locally people don't crash them at all and the fact that it's build on E46 platform means parts are not as pricey... it's just me thinking out loud. I dunno why a 260+ HP sports car is less or same expensive to insure as my 163hp 4 door diesel... can't complain though, but we have governemtn who wants to tax cars soon according to HP output (that's right, not according to emissions... idiots!!) so this might change but probably not till 2010 as there are government elections.

Diesel is about 1.26 euros per litre, petrol (98) is 1.14 euros give or take... it changes up and down by few cents of course, but diesel is more expensive than petrol, that's right.

And yes, I'm not just tempted. I want. If i find a used example and someone willing to trade it's a done deal. I made up my mind basically. If it is cheaper (it should be) all the better. With economies going down a bit, it makes sense for me to get a slightly cheaper car... haha, and it just happens to be 2 seat sports car... :oops:
 
Interesting that insurance seems very high (of course depends on age, location, car value etc.) Fuel is much less than the UK (about E1.5/litre now) and for tax I meant a specific tax to put the car on the road (another great money raising con)

I can only assume the Zed is cheaper to insure because they tend to be driven more carefully (or at least more skillfully) than the average saloon

Sounds like you just have to find the right car and you're done :)
 
yeah CJ, sounds like I found the car, just need to find the right time to buy it. ;) I will most likely end up with 2.5 knowing the way I think.. but 3l is very much on the cards if the right example turns up. I miss the sound of 6 - in roadster when you can hear exhaust it's a lot. My old E36 had a 6cyl motor and loved that burble very much...
