2.8i noisy rear

I get this when the seat is pushed right back against the boot, I have to move it forward a notch and it all goes quiet... Other than that cant think of anything specific mine is all quiet

You will notice more noise as you're sat over the rear wheels. Some noises from moving plastics etc but it shouldn't be bad, if it is, take it back.

I have a month old 2.8i. Great, but loads of knocks and clunks and creaks from the rear end. Is this normal?
Did I make myself clear - it is a new car delivered in December so only 2000 miles old so far.

Firstly you did make yourself clear. You asked for some opinions/advice on a description of noises you have heard with no audio or actually pinpointing when or where you hear it i.e. All the time, on certain road surfaces, at certain speeds etc.

Secondly we are in April which is now 5 months on from December. So is it 5 months old or 1 month old?

No matter how old it actually is if there is a problem with it I would suggest you return it to the dealers for their opinion and to try another car to see if it is the same. Doesn't really matter what people on here say, it has a warranty and should be returned to BMW to be looked at if you are concerned. They will take it in, check it and if any issues diagnose and rectify the issue. It could be any number of issues causing it and the driving position only amplifies any noise from the rear.

Even brand new cars can have issues. It's not common but it can happen.

Now diagnosed as a faulty different - new one on order for fitting at the weekend. Bit of a surprise at less than 3000 miles.

These things can happen. I had a new active steering rack replaced on my previous 135i at 1000miles. No reason for it, clearly a faulty part. You have just been Unfortunate.

At least it has been diagnosed and is being fixed. Hopefully you will go on to enjoy many years of trouble free motoring.
