It may have unmarked outer wheels but looks like one has been welded from the MOT history.
Never seen a "see separate sheet" for advisories before. Is that because the lists were so long?

It looks like Black Sapphire to me, not Carbon.
Banbury is not too far from Warfield, though. Maidenhead, Marlow by-pass, M40 at Wycombe. 30 Minutes from there.

I did chat with this fella, no service history between 35k and 100k miles. You take your chances I guess. Its been up for sale for at least 4-5 weeks now.

Oh Interesting. Ad is only a few days old and fella said he only put it up on Tuesday.

He did say previous owner was self servicing, but for this money lack of history is a concern. I'd get an Si if a decent one comes up, but otherwise happy with a non Si 3.0 if it means it's properly been cared for.

Reading comments on the silver one. I may leave that one too. Speaking to the fella he's just spent £400 odd replacing water pump which went this week.

Bullet dodged on that silver one then.

Well I have a conversation with the Banbury one dated 5th May on my facebook messenger...and it was up for sale well before I had that chat as I kept passing it over then through frustration at not seeing much out there decided to message him. Maybe time is just passing him by a bit quicker than he realises.

Ah It's an Autotrader advert. so he's obviously given up on Facebook so has been on the market a while, and maybe was unintentionally unclear when I asked how long he had it up for sale as only put on AutoTrader this week.

Either way. I've decided to pass on both of these. As mentioned, these are both on my upper budget limit and I don't really need the Si version. Would rather get a 3.0 or even the 2.5Si if it means its been better cared for.

Really appreciate all the comments from all though, you've allowed me to go with my head and not my heart, and would have no doubt of ended up being stung. It's a lot of money for me, so need to calm down, not rush and take my time. I'll revise my Topic to better reflect the "Wanted" details. :)

Sounds like a wise plan. Buying used cars is a bloody minefield.
Forum cars should be a much better prospect generally. Having trawled through facebook marketplace and Gumtree looking for a car recently, it does seem that all the crap is sold through these two mediums.

Can I just double check you are clearly understanding the engine types you're looking at now?
Apologies if it's sucking eggs......
The facelift gave you the option of three N52 engines, 2.5i (177bhp), 2.5si (218bhp), 3.0si (268bhp)
If you are now thinking of a 3.0i that will be a pre-facelift with the M54 engine (231bhp)
You also have pre-facelift options of 2.2i (177bhp) or 2.5i (192bhp), both with the M54 engine.

Hi Zed.

Yes understood. I done a bit of reading up but by no means expert. But I do know the 3.0i is pre facelift, which providing it's been looked after is what I would be after. 2.2 doesn't really interest me and the 2.5 pre facelift is a tad underpowered, if I'm going pre facelift, then I want the 3.0i.

The only way I would even consider the 2.5, is if it was on a facelift model and an Si

I had mainly ruled out the 3.0Si as being beyond my means, which after going over this thread has confirmed to me that I'm unlikely to get a good one at my £6k budget.

Thanks for checking though. Hopefully that clarifies for others too.

Congratulations on your purchase. That's a clean looking Z4.
