2.5si fuel economy

Just a quick note to those who think the Z4 mpg is bad. I had the parents down for a weekend visit so obviously the Z was no good and stayed tucked up in the garage, spent Saturday running round in the folks Vauxhall Zafira, SRI Diesel. Did 100 miles all on A roads from Bristol to Longleat and back - me driving, definately no foot down moments what with mother being sat in the back - overall MPG for the trip 29.1

Makes the steady 34.8 over the last 3500 miles on my trip computer in the Z look positively frugal!

With regards to 'It's not just down to what you drive but how you drive it', obviously that is spot on. I can extract over 60 mpg out of the remapped Bora(t) , but with my father driving it, despite being a complete grandad in all senses he would manage 45-50 in the same circumstances.
I really want a the 2.5 si due to being the nicer looking facelift model , having a lighter nose and higher revving engine, 6sp box etc.
Lets see how things go, after a month or two I will see how comfortably I am coping with the cost of commuting in my diesel, and if it will move over for a Zed...
