2.5i SE 2006 Manual E85 | Titan Silver | 1yr MOT | 108k miles | NOW £3,350

Please see reduced price of £3,500 for forum members and some additional photos that couldn’t be included on original post.

After being messed around by an Auto Trader buyer who viewed, loved the car, agreed to buy and then requested to payment instalments… would far rather it went to someone on here who’s going looking for a nicely sorted Z4 ready for Spring.

Hi Niall
How bad are the other advisaries? brake pipes, etc?
Why are you selling?

thx

When was the water pump replaced and at what mileage? was the thermostat replaced at the same time?.Also have the DISA valves been checked/replaced?

Thanks

Hi there,

Brake pipes are a common Z4 MOT advisory by all accounts… tester wasn’t worried about them and when I had front callipers, discs and pads replaced last year, the specialist recommended (and subsequently did) replacing the front brake *hoses* but said the pipes were fine.
“Light misting of oil” on front nearside shock was noted… again, told this wasn’t a concern but longer term just worth being aware of. Wheel bearings have been addressed above and have been replaced with BMW original bearings. Finally, front headlight lenses “covered in product”… my mistake! I used an autoglym headlight restoration kit on them prior to the MOT and clearly wasn’t stringent enough in buffing off the protective wax solution! Tester admitted he’s “one of the more detailed guys”!

I’m selling simply because my “main” car lease has come to an end, the Z4 has been a lovely weekend car but just hasn’t seen a lot of use so I’m replacing both with one slightly more practical, “do it all” car.

Hopefully that helps answer your questions.

Cheap as chips and good looking car so should sell.
However a couple of reasons why it might not have sold quickly:
Mileage - a bit on the high side but price reflects this
Model - this is the lower powered facelift model which may put some buyers off
Service - to me the service history is a worry. Did it really go 35k miles between oil changes. My car would have had 5 oil changes in that period.
Good luck however, should sell now weather is improving.

Hi Mike, thanks for the feedback.

Yep, I’ve certainly priced with the mileage taken into consideration and in line with 2.5i models.

Not sure where you’ve deduced it’s gone 35k without oil change? As mentioned in original post, service history is as follows:
15k oil service, 32k inspection 1, 50k oil service, 67k inspection 1, 76k inspection 2, 80k inspection 1, 93k inspection 2, 99k oil service, 106k oil service (DIY)

Could just be my layout choice (linear across page, rather than bulleted) in which case my apologies to anyone else who’s struggled.

Thanks

Still can't believe this car is sitting there unsold when you look at the prices 4-pots are up for!

I wouldn’t agree that 108k miles is high mileage for a 19 yr old car . That’s only 6k miles per year on average

Hi all, reluctantly dropping the price down to £3,350 for forum members… I could really do with freeing up driveway space and taking the Easter bank holiday as an opportunity to get it sold.

Any questions, please fire away.

Just sent you a PM with a 'maybe' offer of help. Don't get too excited though.

Hi,

I see the "Sold" tag, but on the off chance any deal fell through, or anything similar, I would be very interested! If you do for any reason still have the car for sale then please message me!

Many thanks!
