2.5 Vs 3.0 The differences

Hi all

As posted in the newbies forum, I'm hopefully picking up a 3.0 Z4 very soon.

I just wondered what cosmetic differences there are between say the 2.5 and the 3.0. I know obviously it states the engine size on the side, but I wondered if there was anything else that differentiates them...Not that it really matters, I'm just curious!

The most obvious difference :thumbsup: .
Plus in pre-facelift form the 3.0 has the 15mm lower M sport suspension as standard compared to the 2.5.
And the 3.0 came with 17" 103s as standard and the 2.5 16" (can't remember the exact style)
 
The cosmetic differences are already listed above. There are other differences too I thought I'd mention. (some are optional on the 2.5i, some not available at all).

Wow! someone must have seriously raided the options list with my 2003 2.5 it has all these (bar the engine, d-oh!) plus more, reversing sensors, bluetooth, Phone cradle, cup holders, 6CD changer, heated seats, satnav etc plus SMG. (Later added clear lights/4 spot rears and 18" M-Sport alloys)

I wonder how much these options added back then, i.e. would a "base" 3.0 have cost less?

(I happen to know, it was a woman, nothing defamatory there...)

Yep, sounds like they gave you all the upgrades. Alot of those were available in packages (i.e. premium package, sport package.). Things like bluetooth, PDC, SMG, etc. were separate (and expensive) upgrades.

I can't think of any options they missed out on actually.
 
and dont' forget the so called "sound generator" which gives the 3.0 an amazon sound in the driver cabin. But it's upgradeable for 2.5i as well. I did it.
