I've had E86s for the last 4 years and love the N52 engine.
So when my E46 325ti Sport was getting tired I decided to replace it with an early E91 325i SE with a smaller version of the same N52 (decent 330is were all out of budget).
It may be partly due to the extra weight of an E91, and partly due to amazingly high gearing (it's only revving at 3,000 rpm at 80 mph on the speedo in 6th) but it seems a bit lack-lustre at lower speeds - it only really comes alive above 4,000 rpm. (Mind you it is economical - OBC is showing 35.7 mpg average just now)!
So I'm just curious to see how people rate this engine when fitted to a Z4.
Thanks.
