2.5 noise from front of engine

Having read all posts on noises, I am not sure what this is; vanos, pump bearings etc. It's a rattling noise, sounds similar to a clutch release bearing does; a gentle kind of rattle; it does sound like a bearing but I'm not familiar with these engines to know where the pumps are. It can be heard more if I crouch down in front of the grille. Its not too offensive but can be heard over what is a very quiet engine; its only audible at idle too. The car has done 90K but with FSH although the oil services have been done at maximum time around 15k. The car drives very well and pulls like a train and is otherwise perfect. Any advice appreciated if anyone has had similar experience.

Cheers guys, didn't do it myself although would have liked to. Amazingly I found an Ex BMW technician who now runs his own garage within half a mile of our house. Cost £100 all in which I thought was cheap. :D
