SO8 said:35is comes with a warranty ... 28i remapped = no warranty (or at least the chance of a horrible surprise with a warranty claim one day).

I dunno about you guys but I spend most of my time in the 1400-2250 rpm range. A remapped N20 simply won't have the torque or throttle response of the N54 engines.

As these are less visible than remapping the the ECU

Ok when cruising along at 56 mph but as a daily on a commute they are pretty poor..
Out of a 2.0 Z4 you can get 50 mpg apparently, seems feasible as I can get 40 mpg on a steady run out of my 35is..
How much better can a diesel be ?
That has got to be something like a 50mph steady run! Who buys a 35is then poodles about to maximise mpg? Diesels will give you much more mpg than a petrol at comparable speeds (unsatisying noise, restricted rev range, more nose heavy, reduced handling prowess, much, much less enjoyment but has an in-built smoke screen on demand and better fuel efficiency).Z4M-2006 said:. . . . . . Sometimes you have to...
Road conditions and restrictions denote the speed you have to keep to...
If you keep within the speed limits on a decent motorway run you will see very high 30's..
You can't be hell for leather everywhere,
Top up, CC set to 65mph put on some tunes & relax. ~40mpg on 110 miles of motorway is the only way I can explain 29mpg from a weekend of fast backroad driving.SO8 said:Z4M-2006 said:The 35d is rubbish on fuel though..

Wow, 40mpg from a 35iS ! You must have the restraint of a saint. The most I have seen is 34mpg.
