2.0 exhaust blowing and whistle

Hi all!

I am brand new to the forum, so please be gentle!

I recently became the proud owner of a 2007 2.0 z4, but have recently heard a weird blowing noise from the exhaust and a whistling sound that increases in pitch when accelerating The exhaust sounds really boomy (which is kind of cool!) but i think i have also lost some power. Has anyone experienced this before?

I have it booked in for new tyres on Saturday, so i will be getting it checked then but wondered if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Is it coming from the front or the back of the car?

Could be a cracked manifold, 2.0 Z4's are know for this.

As above, manifolds are an issue on the 2.0i. Are there any engine management lights on.

No lights on the dash at all. I think it's coming from the front so it could be the manifold, although it sounds normal on idle. I only notice it when I put my foot down!
