Its been exactly year to this since I Bought AUC //MR. I had been looking to upgrade from 2.5i to 3.0si for a few weeks but because of the economical meltdown I was losing a lot of money on my car. Got here after reading r/ws and a test drive later I bought the M. I could not believe the difference in the feel between the 3.0si and the M. In a short test drive fortunately which I managed with the same dealer.

The 3.0si didnt feel right, i wasnt connected with it and didnt feel like I wanted to buy it. To be fair to 3.0si I drove it first. Then the M- different story all together. What a beast. I put a deposit and bought it.

I have done 10k in a year- more top down then up. I use it everyday. A trip to the continent, several trips to the lakes, brecon valley, the dales. I still have the same feeling since day 1. What an awesome car. I still smile when I unlock the car and always look back after parking it. I havent tracked it and not sure whether I want to. Plenty of A roads and what a pleasure. I have done a few 0.60mph runs(on a private road) and seriously its fast best was 4.8secs.

Costs so far: 2 rear tyres(conti sport), Insp 1, oil top ups, recently thanks to you guys I went to see Peter at autotech in telford for keycdes. also did a CDV delete, Honestly since its been snowing and icy roads, I've been ever so careful so I cant make out a difference yet.

MODS: Blackened grills, CDV. Future- looking to install a audio jack for mp3.

Honestly guys this is one car I've felt like keeping it for a long time. I've had sever FWD and RWD before this but this is the first. I've been to look at the new Z4 and somehow I'm nto convinced yet. The looks have been growing on me and I feel it will be a downgrade rather than an upgrade. I love ragtops to tintops anyday.

I must thank you guys for all your help with simple things. I definitely have saved a lot of money and also learnt a lot from you guys. Planning a trip to Le mans, probably ring next year not sure yet.

They are very addictive! I had an M3 Convertible before the Z4MC and despite them both having the same engine the Z just has something that hooks you. Its impracticle for a family (have to have a second motor - the battle bus) but the buzz you get over whelms you and it does'nt matter. Just wish the wife understood where I'm coming from as to her its "Just a car". Mind you she has'nt driven it, perhaps a blessing as she would most likley end up sticking it somewhere it does'nt belong. Thats not a sexist remark but just a fact that she is not comfortable driving a car that she cannot see the end of the bonnet or has more power than a lady shave.

I agree with everything you say, I've had my car for nearly three years now and still feel excited every time I drive it :)

4.8 seconds to 60 eh? You must have got one of the slow ones

I've never had a car that made me feel in "honeymoon phase" for so long (incl. my marriage :o ) I've had this car 3 years strong!

It's a proper "mistress" for anyone who's happily married. :D

I completely agree with you. I'm glad lots of people share the same thought. I must say its crap in snow. With pre xmas freeze I was struggling to get up the road to my house, wouldnt move. No traction tried all tricks in the book. ATleast didnt manage to knock it anywhere.
WHAT A CAR! :driving: :driving:

Girlfriends 125i was a nightmare in the recent snow, wouldn't get up the drive, slipped everywhere. Previous 330i of mine was the same. It's RWD, in the snow it's just a no no.

Luckily I take the train to work and the MC lives in the garage.
