1st Week With the Z4

Well week 1 done with My Z, Absolutely Love it. Getting thru some niggles it came with....Already changed the Gear Knob (ZHP one), Changed Gear Gator (Leather), Bled the cooling system after changing Condenser and Exp Tank.

Got a horrendous Wheel Vibe between 65 and 75 mph! Assume Balancing, although the previous owner had literally just had all wheels refurbed prior to purchase, all have weights on, but maybe not done properly.
One thing im not keen on is the Elec steering feel, now im hoping to cure this by using the guides on here for adjusting the Ring on column. But failing that, i'm going down the route of Hyd Conversion.. :D

But overall i love it, gets alot of second glances..

Thanks buddy, dont have links to hand but both from Ebay. Both easy to fit and spruce up interior nicely.

Zeds is such fun. :driving: :D Does sound like a simple wheel imbalance. Check you haven't picked up a lump of earth on the inside of a rim.

I tried everything to sort my wobble at 65-80. Eventually a full suspension refresh did the trick. Along with making driving it an even better experience. Lovely car by the way.

It sounds like you've had a busy week - that seems to be what these cars do to us!

A ZHP gear-knob is a definite improvement over the OEM one.

I hope you can get your wheel vibration sorted out as those wheels look very different.

I know what you mean about the EPAS! Every time I drive my Z4 I convince myself it is OK, but the next time I drive my 3 Series with HPAS I realise the Z4 steering could have been so much better. :headbang:

Congrats, very nice example. Are those AC Schnitzer alloys?
Thank you, Yes they are 18" AC Schnitzer. Been trying to find out what type they were, but rare as so it seems!! Unsure if they reps or genuine, but had trouble finding either in my shape! Does say AC on centre caps! :o

Totally agree the Epas just seems a little vague compared to my 330ci.... But will see how we get on, planning to refresh springs n dampers with Eibach and Bilsteins anyway, see if that makes a difference... :driving:

They look like a combination of Type 4 and 5. It'd be interesting to see what's stamped on the inside.
