1st long trip in the zed - observations

Yesterday was my first time since buying her that I have done a long trip - 340 miles roundtrip Leicester - Middlesbrough.
Observations :
1. None of you spotted me :x .
2. The drive was effortless, I have never driven a car that cruises that well. The seats are so comfy that I didn't even get a backache like I usually do.
3. Everyone apart from 4x4 drivers is incredibly courteous, letting me out of lanes, moving out of the way in the fast lane, etc.
3. Doing 70-80, with the occasional spurt, all the way got me an MPG of 39 mph which compares with the Pug.
4. Even at the funeral I went to, the zed got people talking and I received three compliments.
4. HOWEVER, driving on roads that aren't completely smooth gets rather annoying as you just feel every bump.
5. Driving 160 miles with the roof down, mostly motorway, gives me tinitus and made me realise I want a car next that has an air scarf !

I do 250 miles a week in my Z up the M40 and back to birmingham and have to agree the drive is good!

I have to agree with the bumps comment :D

Don't find doing it too bad usually, but I'll have the seat heater on if the roof is down doing the drive for a bit of extra warmth!

Great  Totally agree that the seats are comfy, I had an MX5 before and I had backache almost every time I jumped in and I am not that tall! Only issue with the zed's ride is where there are bumps in the road as you mentioned , otherwise the ride is pretty good. Its like the suspension is missing some compliance

Cindy has problems with the wind around her ears giving her earache when she's in the RS so she keeps a woolly girlie-hat in the car, this has the added benefit of keeping her hair under control - not a problem I have :)

Nooooooo............ how can I be the stereotypical blonde in a sportscar if I cover my hair up ?

Got a 280mile drive this weekend, actually looking forward to it, i love driving long distances :driving:

Lower your seat get out of the wind!! I am 6,2" and i have no problem?
It is, all the way down. I am 5'9 but height is in my legs, and I am a dwarf sitting down. Still get wind whipped despite gimp mask !

A nice hat is the answer, I have a few am currently sport a trilby this summer, however I do have an air scarf and it really does work and the faster you go the more effective it gets......

Ditch the run flats and the ride will be better

Save your money and buy a real scarf, like this

http://www.getgeared.co.uk/Motorcycle_Underwear/Motorcycle_Necktubes.

You can pull it right over your head, its like a funnel.
I've got one in the car but never used it yet.

The only think that I don't like about my Z on long trips is the road noise...

All my Z's sound like they have bad all the sounds proofing removed

Maybe one of these for roof down comfort. You'll probably go faster too so you wont hear the giggling... :)

Lol my two biggest gripes about my z4 ownership

I've driven 1150miles in the last 10 days in an automatic Toyota Corolla.... I'm seriously looking foward to a 140 mile trip in the zed on Saturday, I've missed my car
