1st Deep Clean

Good work! Im impressed doing all this by hand too.

Im looking to do mine once the weather gets better, if it ever does!!

Ive usually done a full on detail on my old car twice a year. Spring and just before we are likely to get ice/snow because of the grit. This way i hoped that it would give it maximum protection

Heres my process, which like yours is a full days work. The results can be pretty impressive though...

1. Rinse car
2. Snow foam car using Magifoam
3. Rinse car
4. Double bucket wash using lambs wool wash mitt and Farecia 7162 G3 Bodywork Detox to remove the old wax/sealants (not to be used all the time. I have the Dodo Juice Sour Power for regular washes)
5. Rinse car and dry using leaf blower
6. Iron X Cherry all over
7. Rinse car and dry using leaf blower
8. Clay bar using Dodo Juice Clay Lube
9. Rinse car
10. Double bucket wash using lambs wool wash mitt and Farecia 7162 G3 Bodywork Detox
11. Rinse car and dry using leaf blower and mirco-fibre dry towel
12. Then DA polish with hex logic pad and Mequiars polishing compound
13. Dodo Juice juice lime prime pre wax cleaner by hand and hand buff off.
14. Poorboys Black Hole by hand and hand buff off.
15. Poorboys XP sealant by hand and hand buff off
16. Collinite 915 Marque D'elegance by hand and hand buff off x 2

After the good write-ups about Poorboys Black Hole, I've just ordered one, so looking forward to using it. Great write up by the way, thanks.

I machine polish but I've never used a DA to polish only ever used a polisher which spins on a single spindle as apposed to a DA(Dual Action) which spins and moves from side to side.

DA can help amateurs like me avoid burning holes in the paint

Seriously though, they are good for paint correction. Plenty vids on youtube to evidence that

Yeh, I believe DA's are used as they are supposedly safer (i.e. the side to side 'throw' prevents burning or marring the paintwork). Most detailers recommend using a DA polisher for safety etc. Pretty easy to understand why people keep mentioning DA's  :poke:

AMMO NYC vids are great for anybody looking for some detailing vids

I hate the DA machines... I only use them for wet sanding and maybe using a paint cleanser... Nothing wrong or dangerous with a rotary machine...far nicer machines to use as well...

Agreed cueball, the only time I ever use a DA is help in the prep for painting.A normal machine polisher is far easier and quicker to use

Adamski, this is great and everything, but is also incredibly frustrating.

Seriously.

I dont know about anyone else, but I'm desperate to see good quality, perfectly lit pictures of your lovely, gorgeous new MC. All we've had so far are shaky cam and mid-wash blur!

Hehe

I've only got my iPhone camera. Will nick SWMBO's camera and take some decent photos :)
