1st BMW!!

I needed to upgrade my 16 year-old Mk1 Audi TT to something newer(Only use a car at weekends) and had about £18,000 to spend. Started looking at Porsche Caymans, found 2 that fitted my wish list, had both pre-checked by a Porsche specialist and one needed £6000 of urgent remedial work and the other £4000. Neither garage would come down to compensate so went off Porsche!!
My wife came home one day and said that she had parked next to a lovely car at work, she didn't know what it was (?) so she took a phote. It was an E89 Z4. I thought "Nice". Hadn't thought of a Z4. Started looking and saw that I could be a 2014 MY decent specced one for around £17,000-£18,000. I got an email from Auto trader for a car on sale at BMW Park Lane, but ignored it at 1st as I thought it would be too expensive or poverty spec. Went back a day or two later, rang BMW and asked If I could look at the car and test drive. They said yes so went down to look at a manual, June 2016 registered sDrive 2.0i MSport car in Mineral white with black Kansas leather. Liked the car, loved the test drive (Although trying to edge that bonnet out of a side road onto Park Lane was a test!), and bought the car.
Had it a month, but have been away on holiday, hence the late post. Spec is;
Auto stop/start. MFSW. 19" double spoke 326 wheels with RF tyres. TPMS. Folding electric mirrors with auto dip. Interior mirror with auto dip. Sport seats with electrically adjustable lumbar and bolsters on driver & passenger seats. Heated driver/passenger seats. Storage compartment package with ski hatch. Wind deflector. Carbon Shadow interior detailing. PDC (Front & rear). Rain sensor. Auto lights. Auto climate control. Cruise with brake function.Extended light package. Professional Navigation. Voice control. DAB radio. DSP Professional hi-fi 14 speakers!!!). Hands free with USB interface. Servotronic steering. Blow-by heater (?). IDrive with SOS services, connected drive, Internet, RTTI (All until June 2019). Extended 2-year warranty (1-year left plus additional year) and with a 5-year servicing package, bought by the 1st owner and transferable!! Car was £17,500 and i am delighted with it.
Drove to the airport early hours and the inside of the car looked special. So many LED's! Drove home last night and it was a joy, even in nose-to-tail M25 traffic!
Only got a couple of pictures from when I got it home the 1st day. Will post more when I've cleaned the airport grime from it!!

Regards

David

Hi guys. Thanks for the warm welcome.
So pleased with the car. When I asked why it appeared so cheap against other similar cars, the sales person asked me to look outside and see what it said on the sign. She said that they are owned by BMW, not Sytners, Stephen James or any of the franchised dealers and that BMW doesn't have to add extra onto the resale price. It wants people to drive BMW's! Seemed fair!!
ZedConvert. I'm in Bromley, just off junction 4!
The car now wear my private plate D HO51E btw

White Zeds especially the E89 do look special, welcome

[ref]DHO51E[/ref], I never ask a salesman 'why is it so cheap?' :-), as I always haggle! but you got a good deal there. Bought my 2014 E89 20i in April... still loving it; mine was from BMW, so 12 months service plan, 12 months warranty, 12 months road side.

In fact I have just booked in for a free oil and filter change

P.S.- I'm over near Heathrow.

Hi and welcome.

The E89s do look good in white, just as the E85s look best in black! :)

Enjoy :driving:

ZedConvert. Would've haggled but the price was right (One for the teenagers!) and as you've said happened to you, she threw all the goodies at me regarding warranty, roadside etc so couldn't really, especially as I was seeing 2014 MY for not much less.

Everyone else. Forum already been a mine of information. Thanks for the good wishes.
Not sure many people have seen a Z4 before. Get lots of stares as other cars drive by. Reminds me when I bought my 1st TT back in 2000!
And that roof! Its poetry in motion.

Hi and welcome - white; you're a better man than me I could never keep the one and only white car I ever had looking clean.

Hi and welcome to the forum OP.

Your car looks great, but you're braver than me buying a white one!

Its just spent 14 days in the long term at Gatwick so isn't white anymore! :D
Getting a good wash and wax at the weekend. Still got a pot of Swissol carnuba wax so will treat the Z if the weather stays fine.
I must say, I love the Mineral white. Really shows the curves of the car!
Thanks again for the warm welcome!

14days in Gatwick North hasn’t exactly helped its ‘whiteness’!
Hopefully, weekend will be nice and can give it a good wash/wax. Got some Swissol carnuba wax so should be that gorgeous Mineral white gleam back again.

Sorry guys. Didn’t think my previous post had gone through! It feels like I’m repeating myself! Repeating myself! Repeating myself! :D
