I tried to take mine off sorn this weekend wanted to tax it from April 1st. It wouldn't let me, wanted to back date to March 1st. Do you have to wait till April 1st to tax it ?
You can only buy tax in whole month incremants. So if you tax for use on 31 march you have to pay the whole of March.

No, you can buy your tax on the 31st but get it to start from the 1st April.

From the last two days of the month you get a choice for the current or next month.
What I meant was you have to pay a whole calendar month. So if you want to drive your car legally on 31 March, you have to pay for 01 to 31 March even though you won't use it all. So I won't tax mine until 01 April (cos I'm a skinflint), although you are right I can actually do the transaction a couple of days before.

The Z is special all year round so I wouldn't have it off the road just to save on tax. Also those cold blue sky days in winter are fantastic. Personally I really enjoy the S54 in the rain

Me too, taxed all year round to enjoy cool winter days roof down where possible.
It's also a hoot in winter :driving:

Very subtly put Mr Wilks  loving the banter, bloody frustrating when the weather's pish on the "big day" though.
Roof down from Thurso to Inverness last Sunday = slight sunburn

This is the wrong forum, but what the hell. I deSORNed the E30 today and fired up the M20B25. Started up first time, and most of the car seems to be working except the wipers. Then took him out for the first run of the season, roof down, sunglasses on, hat on and spent the afternoon dodging rain showers, meeting other classics and eating ice cream 8)

Still crying onto my keyboard... We must really love these cars or we're just nutters...
In my case, a bit/lot of both  :driving:
