Dont worry Wondermike. In SA we get movies about 10 years later. Maybe thats why I thought flashdance came out in the 90's. :D

Wargames with Matthew Broderick I remember it well. And I was living so far North at the time I don't actually think E.T. made it their until 1983 either :)
Sounds as bad as New Zealand where my Dad lives. Out of the big cities, it's like living in the UK 20 years ago :D

Bit like we're wishing for now actually.

It aint that bad. A little slow to seeing new movies, and getting the latest music.. But overtime it has gotten a lot better.

PS: Thought my sister moved to NZ for the better..Seems things are not much different there either. :D

Your ment to take money off of kids not pay them :?

Guessing economics wasn't his strong point!

No silly, I would give money to the school yard bullies to get them to rough up the geeks and nerdy kids. Sheesh, your neighborhoods must have been really middle class.

I was 20, living with my 36 year old girlfriend and her daughter, driving forklifts all day, drinking and making love all night and wondering if that college thing my friends were finishing up in was worth their time. Must have been, our valedictorian sold me a great pair of shoes the other day.

Wow - lots of youngsters here. I was spending long hours at my terminal scribbling lots of FORTRAN code to utilize LANDSAT data as an overlay with Archaeological survey data to help build predictive models of sensitive areas for the oil companies to avoid while looking for drilling sites in Utah's Canyonlands.

Interesting nostalgia trip to just pick a date and then think about what in heaven's name I was doing back then

I had just graduated from college and started work. I spent my first year on the drafting boards and playing around with this new technology called CAD. I also bought myself the current pinnacle of gaming systems, a Commodore 64! A few years later I programmed my C64 to predict the performance benefits of an active damping suspension system on an F1 car as part of my master's thesis.

Nice but ummmmm. I would have cleaned out your garage, basement and fridge while you were playing in your C64. :poke:

I always figured you to be a criminal :fuelfire:

Ok, I was trying to be nice, but ya'll have brought it out in me.....plus someone I know made me feel old earlier, and i'm trying to pay it forward.

In 1983.....

I was.....

2 years old!

That may have been the year I fell (I think I jumped) out the window and got this odd little scar near my eye. I dunno, all I know is I was young and don't remember it other than being told I did in fact fall out a window. Luckily, nothing was damaged permantently!

*runs away screaming*

Hehe, that's all good. On my better night/days I sleep till around noon, I love the evening/graveyard shift. It's 0530 here now. I would be in bed now, but I drank some drinks with some buds and a very loveable lady friend (ok girlfriend) till about 3am, then spent the next 2 hours kissing, cuddling, and generally enjoying time with this beautiful lady. Never thought i'd be fairly satisfied with kissing, either I'm falling for her like a blind roofer, or I've gotten older. I doubt it is the second one.

Hehe tanks. Honestly, i'm worried about how quick I've fallen for her. IMO not good, she would be worth it though.
