Yes - had one a bit older - 1968 red with chrome bumpers and wire wheels - was in my mid twenties and married with two kids - was our only car so had a chrome luggage rack to strap on suitcase - lived in Hoo near Rochester at the time 1976 - used to come back to the IOW for holidays - 6 yr old clinging behind the seats and baby on wife's lap ( even included the cat on one trip ) - totally illegal now and unsafe at the time !!

Finally conceded that we needed a bigger car so changed it for a ............ MGBGT - Red , chrome bumpers , wire wheels

Remember 1976 well - real hot summer that went on for months - hosepipe ban etc - had to wash my MG in the dark

hmm i had 2 mgb softops - of course.. oh the electrics .. i had a dead short behind the dash somewhere never found it.. :o ..

My first car was a 68 SWA 1275 Midget, ODG 673 G, got it in 82 when I as 17, loved it :D :driving:

I had one the same colour. I think it was damask red. I had a tow bar fabricated for it and towed a tiny ALine caravan. Two clutches later I decided maybe that wasn’t such a good idea.

My parents had a Midget when first they were married, long before my sister and I made an appearance:

Only just catching up with this thread, I did something similar, had a lovely black Midget when we first got married and when our first child arrived became sensible and bought a bigger car, a MGBGT :driving:

Wow! That's a real one right, not the conversion?

Not a real one sadly - it's a Frogeye Car Co (aka Isle of Wight Frogeye). Factory built on '64 Midget donor. It cost someone £16K back in 1990! :o
