I have spent a lot of time on this forum since buying my z4 coupe last April, the advise and knowledge from forum members has been (as my 9 yr old would say), awsome! I have done the usual removal of badges, swopped the whip to a stubby,(back again to a whip!), and changed the front grills to black. For winter I have changed the tyres to, non run flat, Falkens winter tyres, which don't instill confidence with road handling but do improve comfort levels, this has long been preached (correctly so), by forum members. But now I am trying to decide what do for summer, I currently have 18" MV2's fitted which I really like. Personally I like this wheel as I think it makes the car look classy and enhances the retro look, I think a more spoked wheel really suits the styling! As these wheels need a refurb I have been keeping my eyes open for another set of wheels to run through summer (Mr Wilks I have been watching you!).I have been trying to find another wheel that I like as much but keep coming back to what I have, I've even disregarded the shadow black in favour of the standard silver that I have already. But this is really boring and I think I should get something different. The thing is I would love to get a set of 19" to run through the summer, because although I don't really want to lower the car I do love bigger wheels, and I think that if I'm going for something different I should go bigger. What I don't know is will this affect my insurance, it's not so much getting a price from my current provider that bothers me but the endless trawl through all the brokers that we all have to do each year. What I would like to know from forum members that have swopped standard 18" to non standard 19" wheels, does it make getting a quote a real drag, having to put that you have down non standard parts, and does that affect the prices? Of course driving around in a 3 litre sports car instead of a Prius means shows that heart rules head, however I like the way the car looks and I'm not sure if that extra inch is worth the bother! So if anyone can let me know their experience, getting competitive insurance quotes I would appreciate it.
