19 Tyres

How wide you can go would depend on the wheels you have but 255/35/19 or 265/30/19 are common choices. What size are your fronts?

Thanks Mate fronts are 225/35/19... So i can run 225/35/19 with no problems at the rear as well?

Cheers

All depends on the width of the rim, do you have a staggered set up, wider wheels at the rear than the front?

I have 8.5J wheels at the front with a 235 35 19 tyre and 9.5J wheels at the rear with 265 30 19 tyre.

Without this info its very difficult to tell you what can can not use.

The wheels on the car are 19 M Sport the ones that were on some off the 335i Coupes. I am unsure of the Off Set. I will call BMW and find out.

Just answered your PM its not the offset but the actual width of the wheel that determines the width of the tyre.

Cant you compare whats stamped on the inside of your original rims with those that you propose to change to. By whats stamped on i mean the offset.

Your car originally had 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear. The idea is that you keep the rolling diameter similar when you change the wheel size. The 225/35/19's that you have on at the moment will show 69.7 mph on your speedo when travelling at 70 mph which is 0.4% out. That's acceptable.

Use this site to find the best size for your new rears:

The 225M came with 255/30/19's on originally as far as I know and that seems a good size for your car but I think that would rule out Falken 452's as they don't appear to do them. Kumho KU31's would be a decent, if not better, alternative to the Falkens. I'm not sure I would go wider than 255's on your wheels.
