im thinking of getting some csl's for my z4mc but im starting to be put off because some people on here say the ride is compromised because of the smaller profile of the tyres,tramlining etc.
i can see that playing around with wheel sizes,wieghts of aftermarket alloys etc will have some kind of effect on the drivability of the car but is it really that bad??people who buy a z4m with aftermarket alloys on wont know how the drivability is compromised if at all because they wont be able to compare with before and after so im asking those of you who have taken the oem alloys off their car and replaced them with somthing else,is it worth it just for the looks??
 
their was a review on the z4m with the CSL wheels and strut brace added in evo, i cant for the love of me find it but they mentioned that the car was much improved!! its all down to personal preference, ive got a set on the way that i collect friday and i can tell you ill be doing some extensive testing, ill report back if your intrested.
 
The ride is fine with the 19's on, don't be put off by those negative towards the jump in size. I tried the original 18's for a few months after buying the car before changing to the CSL's and I honestly can't say anything negative at all about changing. I have no tramlining issues on PS2's and only slight tramlining with Michelin Cups on. There is no or negligible compromise in changing as far as I'm concerned and the car looks incomparably better to boot. If you want tyre size recommendations, after experimenting with a few different combinations I would recommend 245/35 or 235/30 front with 255/35 or 265/30 rear. I'm currently running 235/35 and 265/30 PS2's which handle and ride very well.

beedub,that would be great if you can.dgm, that sounds positive.i made a note of the tyre sizes that you posted some time ago :D
