Changed mine over to MPSS the week I bought mine.
Not only a better and quieter ride but less chance of damage to my Alloys which are prone to cracking.

Hello just out of interest what size did you go for at the front and back ?

I run 235/30/19 front and 265/30/19 rear.

Its all down to the Bridgestones which have a very hard and stiff sidewall compound for the runflats, I found the 18s interlorable on my E89, I had 18" Michelin runflats on my previous E87 and the ride was better and the Dunlop Runflats are better still for ride quality. I have MPSS with Adaptive on my current M135i and the ride quality is in a different league to my old E89. I'am pondering whether to go back to runflats with Adaptive when I swap the M135i for another. Still like the idea behind funflats.

Tim.

Hate to say this but I don't think there's anything wrong with the runflats !
326 - 19" rims
M sport non adaptive suspension

Hated them on the E85 tho!

Phew I thought I was on my own
(Sorry I know I 'm butting in on an E89 thread)
I also don't get the noise thing - the Db rating is exactly the same as the non run flats
There I've said it. :exitright:

well my bridgestone RFs have done 16K. My normally mixed route to work no problems. When I hit a really poor maintained B road in the middle of nowhere they felt terrible. It was only some road surfaces where road noise was loud. I will consider changing to a different brand of run flat perhaps.

You're not alone! I'd even go as far to say I like my Bridgestone RF's!

Just changed my rears for another pair having got 16000 out of them which I'm quite happy with, especially given the load on them in the 35is from time to time. I got 22000 miles out of my rears on my previous E89 23i. I have to say though the ride is noticeably improved with the Adaptive Suspension in the 35is. Never had any issues regarding cracks either.

Noise rating is external on ISO (I think) spec road surface which is fairly smooth. Tyres are designed to project noise into the wheel arches and subject the driver to more road noise. You often find that the quietest internal tyres have a high external noise rating.

Having tried three z4 when buying found the 17" had the most control and comfort overall.
A rough rule of thumb is that you want 90-100mm of tyre sidewall for optimal performance dynamics with radial tyres which is why I stayed at 18" on my 35iS. On RFT tyres with a stiffer side-wall you'll be looking at more side wall so it doesn't surprise me that 17" wheels give the best dynamics.
