18” wheels & tyres

I’m wanting rid of the run flats that are currently on my E85 as I’m sure that’s contributing to its light slightly wayward steering that I’ve been experiencing. Looks like the date on the front Bridgestone RFT’s are 2012  I like the MV2’s that are currently on it but rather than buy a set of ‘normal’ tyres I’d like to see if anyone’s thinking about selling their 18” wheel and decent tyre combo’s if they’ve perhaps moved up a size to 19’s? No 108’s though please. I had them on my previous E86 so would rather try something different.

Z4M 224M wheels with non-M size tyres?

I just read Z4M wheels so immediately discounted them but didn’t realise they were shod with standard sized tyres. I should have read the full thread :D They might do the job.

Seller won’t post/courier due to previous experiences so can’t blame him. Distance too far to go and see them so still on the hunt…

I’ve used a courier for numerous sets of wheels now where they collect them unwrapped, take detailed photos on pick up (and again on delivery) and blanket/quilt wrap them on the van. They’re a specialist motor parts courier, move body panels, hard tops, wheels etc.

They’re more expensive than the likes of paisley freight, you’re talking £69 for four wheels with tires fully insured. - but you do get what you pay for in my experience

May not work out for the 224’s but gives you wider choice from further afield if you can get good photos / videos in advance.

Thanks for the info. Certainly something to consider. I’ll leave it a few days and see if anything interesting pops up otherwise I could just resort to plan B and get a full set of Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6 on the MV2’s for just under £500 fitted

Well, that's what I'd have suggested...but you specifically said you wanted wheels & tyres :poke:

 Yes I did although there’s the added headache of storing the MV2’s if I get replacements or trying to sell them on so sensible option is get some decent rubber :?

Well, it was only Christmas 2022 that I gave my mate 2 sets of MV2s with tyres (from my old 330D) as they were taking up space in the shed. I think one set had some crappy Maxxis tyres on, and the others had part-worn track rubber on.

He’s going to use them on his supercharged e46 330i Touring as a road set & track set…possibly when we next go to the Ring.
