18" v 19" CSL's

Keep looking at decent CSL (dished rear) reps but don't want to splash out on new tyres having recently bought new 18" Michelin PS3's for my 224's. Was wandering whether 18" reps look okay...any pics anyone and can anyone recommend a decent make

If you can budget for them I'd recommend the apex wheels, they are pretty close for csl style and quality but best thing is that they do a very varied set of widths and ETs so you should be able to get the perfect setup.

If you want rep reps then look here http://www.cmwheels.com

Just been through this heartache myself. Wanted 19" CSL but wanted the ride of 18" as well as being significantly cheaper for good tyres. Many differing opinions about the ride of the two diameters which just confused things. I looked for 18" CSL but there are none of an exact match any more. The spokes don't close to the rim but are parallel etc. If you want an exact match their are good 19" reps which do look better as well but..... And round you go with the argument again.

I have decided to get my 224 refurb end when switching back to Summer tyres in four weeks as want to do other things with the car budget.

Thanks guys. Had a look at the CMWHEELS site and there seems to be quite a varied choice of offsets. Running 224's on my non-M my rears are just rubbing slightly. Anyone any ideas on the best offsets so they sit wide but just don't rub on the rear in either 8.5 or 9 x 18

Sorely tempted by the Cades Artemis black and polished alloys from BM Autosport. 8"front et 35 and 9" rear et 40. Does anyone know how these offsets would look

I had 18" csl reps from bmauto sport on my old e86. Had a nice dish on them & great qaulity. Plenty of debates on here regarding 18/19". 18's do handle better but 19's do look better.

Yes I do love the look of 19's but I really need to stick with the 18's. I suppose if I dint like them I could offer them up on here :D

They're sold....but with purchase and refurbished costs I'd be getting close to new...admittedly I'd have a set of winter tyres as well

had the same thought process as you regarding tyre price & ride comfort, bought some staggered 18s , had them on a day & they looked all wrong imo.

So lowered it on H&R & got some BBS CH's staggered instead.

At least with the CH's they have always beeen available in 18", where as CSL's are 19s from factory , so just look a bit odd in 18" Flavour imo.

Not sure if CM Wheels have changed source, but I bought my CSL reps in hyper silver from them three years ago. Admittedly the paint on the back of the wheels was a bit thin but the fronts were an even thickness and colour across all four wheels. Had to have all 4 refurbed after the GF curbed 2. My local wheel restorer couldn't match the original hyper silver so now they are closer to genuine CSL's in colour.

I contacted BM Autosport regarding gloss black Zito but they weren't sure if they'd rub as only available 9.5"rear in ET 35. Is this your fitment and do they rub?

I believe mine are 8.5 front and 9.5 rears with 255/35/18 on rear and no problems at all
I'm also on standard springs
