18" runflats vs 19" non-runflats?

Iv had a good search on here and i cant seem to find anyones opinion on this so im gonna ask as im contemplating changing the wheels. I realise going from runflats to the same size non-runflats is an improvement but what about to a different size, whats the ride comfort like between the two? Would it still be an improvement going from the 18" runflats to the 19s?

i had the bridgestone runshites on my 18" 108's and hated them, just couldn't wait for them to wear out to replace them. i then opted for 19" proper tyres and i would say the ride is better, without a doubt. I also seem to have far more grip, especially in the wet?.

ah good, im really wanting a set of 19s from bmautosport but i didnt want to stump up a large amount of money only to find out theyr going to shatter my spine!

They definitely won't be any worse, that's for sure. What about non-RFTs on your 108s or are you really fancying 19s?

well the 108s are in need of a refurb and although they look great id rather spend the money of a refurb towards a new set instead, they are just a pain to try and keep in a good condition! I just think the 19s look better on the z4 but im still undecided between the oem ish look of the csl replicas or for the more showy deep dish?

i went from 18" runsplats to 19" vreds... got my 108's changed by the dealer and didnt want them rotting again!

The ride in definetly bumpier with 19" and you feel every bump, but its ,much less harsh then the 18" RFT's and dont crash around... if that makes any sense!

Just as a matter of interest, is the problem of 19" BMW wheels cracking down to the rft's or does it happen as well with normal tyres?

I think its a combination of the RFT's and weak alloys... my dad has 19's on his M5 (on non RFT's) and they havent cracked (yet)

While a know lots of people at work with 3 series and 19's and all of them have had at least 1 wheel which has cracked.
