18" E86 Tyre Recommendations

Hi All, I'm sure this has been a very talked about topic in the past, sorry to go over old ground :headbang:

I'm considering a wheel style change but instead of swapping the 18" budget tyres over to the new rims that came with the vehicle, I want to change the tyres to.

It currently fitted with non-run flats which I believe is the way to go but any recommendations for the new tyres going on?

If you’re going a staggered set up, Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres are very good. Excellent handling and grip but also they wear slowly, so you get good value for money.

If a square set up, I’ve gone for Michelin pilot super sports in 225/45/18 all round (m tyre size) and I am very impressed by them. They don’t look as good from the back as they’re only 225 width not 255 (so 30mm narrower) but they have excellent grip and the balance is much improved.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 or Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 5 (as good as the PS4) or Goodyear F1 Supersport (as good as the PS4S).

You can't go wrong with the high performance Michelin or Goodyear tyres. But I don't think you'll get best value than Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5s -- I bought mine from 123tyres, £76/tyre for the fronts and £103 for the rears.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll check there website Lucasxdiniz, thats sounds a really good price - most of the Michelin's I've been looking at were considerably more expensive than that.

Just fitted the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5s all the way around. Reduced road noise over the old Potenzas and better ride with less tramlining than run flats.

also don't forget Hankook evo3 and Falken F510, both excellent tyres.
I have however gone for F1 assy5's, better wear rate than michelins with equal performance and a lot cheaper too.
