18" CS style fitting advice for E86

This is not my strong point, so seeking advice from those that understand please.

New owner of a titan silver E86 with a set of ok but not great looking 108's, on run-flats, which just have to go.
What i would like to do as I think it sets the silver paint off is to fit a set of black alloys and upgrade the kidney grills to black also, so having looked at various posts here, I am drawn to a set of CS style 18" like these

The advice I am after is
1. will these fit?
2 will I require spacers?
3 what size normal tyre would best suit?

PS, was thinking MV2's as that is a straight swap, and although I have no problem with detailing, I have read a lot of comments about the amount of cleaning MV2's require, hence now considering CS style.

No problem. Offsets work pretty well with those wheels, so only standard type size spacers required if you need them any more flush

Thanks for the kind words on the build thread too. Lots of small jobs, but I think I got lucky, as the base car is pretty solid and its been great to get back into a Zed. Salberk grilles are very good quality. Ordered from their eBay shop and arrived in just a few days. Would look good on your colour car and with darker wheels, I reckon.

While mv2 are more work to clean than other wheels they're not that bad it should put you off, I used a body work brush and a glove noodle mitt, two minutes a wheel absolute maximum, so around 6-8 minutes to clean them up.. hardly the end of the world

If you then add some alloy wheel wax, it will be longer before you need to properly clean them next time too

Having studied wheel options last night, and also the wheel poll on this forum that I have decided i like the look of Riva DTM style wheels in gloss black and are now my preferred choice and look to be a straight 18" swap out with no worries about will they fit, plus proper tyres! (look forward to a better ride) I was concerned about getting the offsets correct and would I require spacers and all that other number stuff that I find quite confusing as well as spending a lump of money and worrying they wont fit.

Very much looking at Riva DTM's, so I have entered the details into a wheel checker, most of which is self explanatory, but can anyone help explain what "scrub radius" is (last item on screenshot) and how it may affect the tyre or handling?
I have attached a screenshot showing OEM front stated as RIM 1 compared to RIVA DTM as RIM 2, I think the figures entred for 18" fronts is correct, please feel free to correct me.

Despite scratching my head to understand offsets/tyre sizes/lowering and spacers, I've struck out. I just can't understand it!
Can someone brighter than me provide a nice simple answer to the following question?
- What wheels, spacers & tyres will be a no-drama fit on my Z4MR if I fit some lowering springs at the same time?

I saw an M2 at Goodwood the other with a lovely bronze finish and a super dished rear profile. They look mega, but I fear that the dished rear will only add complexity. More advice welcome!

When I bought my Z4MC it was lowered on H & R coil-overs and had 19" CSL Reps fitted.

But the previous owner had it lowered way too far, with 10mm spacers on the front and 15mm on the rear. As a result it grounded on speed bumps and the arch-liners were suffering serious rubbing. :roll:

So off with the spacers, and suspension wound as high as it would go. End result was a ride height about 23mm lower than standard on the front and 19mm lower on the rear. Happy days, no more rubbing and no more grounding.

My wheels were 8.5Jx19 ET44 fronts with 235/35 tyres and 9.5Jx19 rears with 265/30 rear tyres.

You asked for them, here they are! with a set of Goodyear F1 A5's, what a transformation, with 1 before photo showing the 108's on runflats, wheels now boxed and awaiting a refurb, tyres in the bin.

The new wheels look great with the Ti silver
I’ve never much liked the look of 108s on the E86 although they can look great on the Roadster in the right colour combo. For CS/CSL style wheels the opposite is true.

sorry but i must be one of the only ones who prefers the OEM 108s

black wheels just loose all definition to me , you cant even tell what they are on my PC Screen they could be steelies in black

I'll sort of agree and also disagree!

I don't prefer 108s, but there doesn't seem much point fitting black CS/CSLs because you can't really see what they are.

IMHO they look much better in Silver.
