17's on an Si?

I've just fitted some 17" bmw wheels to my 3.0 Si (my winter wheels and tyres)

The front wheels look really tight round the calipers but they're not rubbing or making any noise when I spin the wheels round with the car jacked up.

I know the Si has slightly larger brakes so just wanted to make sure this is alright before I drive it and loading the suspension.

If anyone could weight in with a little confirmation it would be much appreciated

if really concerned why not put some 3/4mm spacers on ? should give you enough clearance without requiring new wheelbolts .

what style wheels?

17's should be fine, dependent on the offset.

Something like BMW 103's are no problem.

Also its a bit early for winter tyres.. think they should go on sub 7 degrees... unless you are based in Scotland... in which case winters can be used year round  :fuelfire:

I have 17 inch Daisy's for winter, they are really tight but never had any problems last year

Yep they are 103's :)

My usual wheels are 19's and I'm hoping to put it in for some waruntee work. Since the Z4 was never meant to run 19's I don't want the dealer trying to use that to mince out of having BMW paying for the work

Thanks folks!

I had a broken rear spring replaced under the extended warranty with my 19's on :?

Unless the work has anything to do with brakes or suspension I wouldn't worry, even then the dealer would have to prove it was a because of these wheels the problem has occurred.

3.0si stock calipers fit under 17" wheels - if you have stock calipers, everything will he ok, no matter what discs and pads you have

Stock 17s are 8x17 et47 or 48.
Also stock e91 8x17 et34 fit the z4 without a problem.
