17'' wheels

I know that most folks on here like to run 18'' and 19'' wheels and they do look good but i am thinking of dropping to a 17'' wheel with a 45/50 profile tyre for a better ride with less tramlining and crashing over poor road surfaces ,when i had the cobra it ran on 16'' halibrands with 255/60 tyres and the ride was great..... so what do you guys think.

I recently changed from 17 to staggered 18s (both NON-RFTs), I can't say there is a big difference in comfort at all the turn-in is sharper with 18s and it feels very 'planted' but there is a little more 'fidgeting' on motorways. It's a small trade-off.
