17 out of 21 ... why bother?

sometimes i keep the top up if i need my hair to be in place for work meetings :D

Nice weather the top is always down unless going to a working meeting. A Z4 with a roof is like a motorcycle with a windshield and saddlebags. Extra baggage. :poke:

I get the roof down at every opportunity! That’s what it’s there for.

Yesterday was the hottest IV had it down in and my legs did feel a bit toasty, I just took the wind deflector out to get a bit of a breeze going around.

My favourite is on a nice morning, makes the day feel much better! Even though people look at u in disgust as you drive along lol

What i noticed most was the number of drivers who had their top up were mainly driving SLs/MG as opposed to Z4. I can understand MG cause they are manual but why with SLs.

I've found its been mostly SLKs with the roof up even in sunny weather.

got to agree, roof down when its nice and no chance of rain, been down a lot this week! factor 15 in the glove box so im not burnt :P . having the roof down transforms the zed for me, turn the stereo up and hit that sport button, its all mental but i always feel faster and the car handles better with the roof down, even though your actually driving 20mph slower. i can live with the roof up 9 months of the year for the june/july/aug good weather days.

i suggest we all buy hummers as a 2nd car, so we can have more scortchers like this week  :driving:

Notice this all the time saw loads today roof up may aswell by a hard top and if they do have the roof down all the windows are up :(

As Andy said top down aircon on full blast if you get to hot

I always have the roof down in summer when the sky is blue. I put the BMW Sauber cap on to protect my head if the sun light is strong. :)

McLaren won the driver championship last year, but it only has 5 more points than BMW Sauber at the moment. and Nick Hiefeld is only 3 points behind Lewis Hamilton (2008 F1 Champion). BMW Sauber will improve when a new double-decker rear diffuser is introduced in German GP next week. :)

IMHO if you aren't using the roof when the weather's like this then why did you buy a convertible? I keep a small bottle of sun-tan lotion in the door so I don't get burnt, it's not exactly a hassle to put it on before I set off. I just don't understand why you would want to leave the roof up, unless going on a long motorway journey or you have a manual roof and just can't be bothered with the hassle. Each to their own I guess.

Only reason my top is up at 85 F plus is it depends on where I'm going because I'll be bathed in sweat (even with a/c full blast) when I get there. If it goes above 95F the top stays up, having the a/c full blast still means you feel like a blowdryer is blowing in your face/hair around here. It will be a welcome change going to the UK. Except then it'll probably be too cold for me :headbang: :headbang:

To get an idea, I work the dayshift, which means for about 4 hours a day I'm working in the 110 or so temps we get here, your body gets so used to that temperature that when 95-90 degrees rolls around you think it's pretty nice out.

when the sky is blue roof down even in january if its not to cold i will take the a4 if I have to keep the roof up
