I'm in the process of sorting out a set of rims for next winter.
so question is... will 16" rims fit on a '09 23i sDrive Z4(i.e over brakes) assuming offsets are ok...
I see the std 17" offsets are ET29, and ET29/ET40 (f/r) for my 19" 296, so what does this mean for 16"& 17" wheels? what are the min / max offsets i should make sure my winter rims are?
cheers...
Gerry

The 16s will fit but will look really pants, you should try and get a set of the OEM 17s if you can.

the 17" i have in mind are 225/45/R17 ET48 wheels (z4 style103)
http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=45&diameter=17&wheelwidth=8&offset=29&width2=225&aspect2=45&diameter2=17&wheelwidth2=8&offset2=47&Submit=Submit
indicates the fronts of these will be 18mm inboard of std 225/45/R17 ET29 rims & rears will be 6mm inboard of the std Et 40 rims.
will they fit ok?

You will need 20mm spacers on these wheel as the fronts will rub on full lock and look a little silly being so "inboard" of the arches, picture the wheels on an e-type jag

I may be better to try and pick up a set of 17" OEM wheels off eBay, as a general rule of thumb you can have a 5-6mm difference in offset before having to fit spacers, so an offset between 25 & 35 will be okay, which means an e92 17" wheel will fit and there must be loads of those
