Well it's done and the new wheels are on!
The shadow chrome colour has turned out perfectly and IMO really suits the car. Like the Maldives Blue, the shadow chrome changes depending on the angle of the sun - in bright sunlight they look quite light and silvery, whereas in dimmer light they get quite dark. This colour also really modernises the MV2 wheels, which in their stock colour are starting to look a little dated. The update has given me just what I wanted: giving the car a customised, more masculine look while still maintaining that OEM style.
The painting cost me $560, so all up this has cost me just under $2k for nice new wheels and tyres.
I'll have to decide on a puncture repair system pretty quickly. M mobility kits are pretty expensive, and according to the wheel guy all of those kind of "goo" kits are just as bad as each other when it comes to actually repairing the tyre, so I guess I'll just get an off the shelf product like "slime" and a little compressor.
Next step is to sell off the old 103 wheels. I guess I'll just eBay them...
Thanks to everyone for guiding me through the decision making process
