135i Calipers Fitted to Z4M

I'm guessing mine must have been removed because I didn't have the fitting issues, but if it helps I never had squealing issues with the oe pads. Ds2500 were a bit squeaky but that never really bothered me.

Pads ground down to 15.8mm on the sander. The callipers now slide over the disc like a dream.
The brackets have arrived, too.
Scheduled install for the 15th Feb. Whoop whoop.

Whoop whoop......

I've hardly driven them but initial impressions are good.
Although I do have a longer pedal, the power is there but there's more pedal travel to get it.
I'm not sure if this is a characteristic of these callipers on the 3.0si or maybe a 2nd bleed is needed.??

On the E85 Z4M is there an option like on the E89 to enable ‘performance brake’ option in the DSC system?

I changed mine to that option when I fitted those calipers…

I certainly have a firm pedal..

Wooo finally got them on, congrats! They look very smart too :)

What did you have to do to make them fit in the end? shave a few mm off the pads?

I found my pedal was a little longer than previously with the OE calipers, but that's because you're moving more brake fluid with the 6-piston calipers than the single piston OE calipers. I actually found it a nice improvement once used to it, as it permits better pedal modulation.

Can't comment on the performance brake coding, I never bothered.

Mine is firm, but further away than it was yesterday.
I'm a noob when it comes to coding, and I suspect the E85/86 platform has a more limited set of variables, so this might not even be an option.

Interesting, thanks for the info, Ed.

Hello,

I'm ready for the upgrade but it's too tight, wheel wont spin even if my disk aren't new.

Powercoat, all new seals (inner and dust boot), custom stainless shim, all new hardware

The pads seems too wide TEXAR 34 11 6 786 044

An other question, Z4M brake line were too short, I was planning or using stainless 3An brake line but I dont find the right 3AN Male to M10x1.0 Male Stainless Steel Brake Fitting Adapter Connector with the FLARE TIP I just find the INVERTED.

Kit will be for sale or could you give me advice ???

See my previous post, I had to grind my Brembo pads down by .2mm each side.

I had a tight fit initially, but drove them slowly for 20-25kms and they bed in.

For lines I used 135i lines from ECS tuning, but any 135i SS lines will do.

Those mass dampers can be removed, it just looks also odd when removed as there is a recessed surface. There is a company that make blanket plates painted to match. A bit pricey and so I have just left those mass dampers on.
