12 Spline Tool For 108's

I could be needing a 12 spline tool for the 108 style rim. Can someone link me to where I can buy it?

I'm actually fuming, I bought a refurbished set from BM Autosport in march and my rear passenger has cracked/peel on the lacquer of the rim where the point of the spoke meets. I've contacted them about sorting it out but I'm just waiting on a reply, but after reading through their website I'm not holding out for much.

So I'm going to speak to a local guy tomorrow but it might be easier if I can remove the inner part for him first.

Also what torque setting do these need to be set at?

Thanks for any help.

You can buy a full set of multi splines from your local Halfrauds about £20 quid, lifetime guarantee professional quality.

A guy I work with says he could have one in work, so hopefully ill have one tomorrow.

From what Info I've found 22-24 ft/lbs torque for the bolts , unless someone whose done ths knows different .

I didn't have the correct spline in work but found on eBay cheapo.

I can't find an exact figure for the torque setting but from what I've read on here and else where 28 or 30lbs of torque will be fine.

Looks like a friend of mine will sort my wheel for me, he also did my M bumper so I know it's in good hands.

Thanks for all the replies.

Don't use a cheapo tool. The splines are delicate and strip one bolt and you'lll regret it.. I use 1 tool to remove and one to refix as 2 came in the kit.
I use an airgun to remove them as it avoids the risk of stripping them by simply twisting the tool about

Torque - 20lb will be fine. As per my pm retorque at 100 and 500 miles to be sure.
Locktite if you want - I don't these days.

Thanks for the info, I've got all the correct tools air gun, torque wrench and my old mans just produced a set of splines with a 12 in. So I do have 2 now.

Thanks for your PM also.

Well I can't fault BM Autosports customer services - they are more than happy to replace the wheel for another which they can send out straight away. The crack in the lacquer was caused by a paint build up.

But I'm also going to take the advice of jeeper and check the other wheels for tightness now I've done a few miles on them.

The saga continues.......

Got the replacement wheel from BM Autosport, took it too have the tyre fitted this morning and the dopey tyre fitter dropped it chipping the rim.

So now its at the shop where I had my M bumper painted being repaired, fortunately the tyre garage are footing the bill. I'm not too mad but a bit disappointed.

So this thread was handy after all as I stripped the wheel down, all bolts out with no issues and just waiting to get the rim back in a few days now.

Not much luck lately

I emailed BBS a few days ago enquiring about the torque setting for the titanium bolts and just had an interesting reply.....
