108's

Have you got any pics Mark?
I originally wanted the car on 19" CSL reps but after driving the car, I like how it rides and the 108's styling has really grown on me.

I visited the wheel refurb specialist this morning and they agree with what I've said. They also added that the blast used has been far too big and harsh. This was obvious in areas that hadn't been painted properly as the alloy was extremely rough. I'm waiting on a response from the dealership now.
Fingers crossed.

Good news.
After the photo's and an expert opinion the guys at the dealership have agreed to cover the costs or most of the cost depending on how much the refurb is going to cost.
They seemed genuinely disappointed that they have sold a car in that condition and they have now offered to rectify it. Can't ask for anymore than that so they get a thumbs up from me.

The going rate seems to be about £100 + vat. Very expensive but I guess split rims are a bit more complicated.

Great news.

I'm guessing you mean £100 per corner? The wheel specialist wanted £550 to refurb the set i got off here... Did them myself and wrapped them in winter tyres instead.

Great result

Are you getting them refurbed OEM with the diamond cut / polished rim ? If so then (from what I recall when I had an idle poke around) £100 plus VAT per wheel seems to ring a bell.

Just had a look - Lepsons quote £105 plus VAT per wheel for 18" split rims with a diamond cut rim and standard paint finish on the rest :

http://www.lepsons.com/prices/

If your quote is for a simple paint / powdercoat finish then it's too high...but if it's for all four wheels then it may be too low for a quality job...

Think I need some sleep

Think I was quoted approx 150 all in per corner with whatever finish and that was with wheel genie. Don't need it as mine are tip top  but sure I will need them in the future

Haha. Yeah sorry gents. It's £100 + vat per wheel.
I'd get it done in OEM style. So the standard silver for the middle and maybe get the originally polished rim coated in a silver chrome finish.
I actually spotted something on eBay that seemed ok value if you live near London and you're looking to have your 108's refurbished. See linky

That deal seem,s ok & saves any hassle waiting to have your own set refurbed , ,
For anyone tempted PM me , , i will have a set of 108,s freshly split & powdercoated in the next 2 weeks , similar money but you can keep your own wheels

They look great Mark. You'll have to report back in the summer to tell us whether you've ruined your ride moving to 19's :P

Summer? Feb/March

I can't see why it would, It can't be any worse than the 17s I've got on there at the moment, terrible! A complete lack of grip and it tramlines so bad on the Bridgestone RFT, the 18s felt much better so I'm expecting confidence to be restored with 19s and Michelins. Don't forget my rolling radius shouldn't be much different to the 108's because what ive gained in width in alloy I've lost in tyre wall size.

They are also lighter than the 108's, so much easier to pick up.

Lol. You don't have to convince me Mark. I'm just trying to talk myself out of 19" CSL's!
I've got my 108's back. Picked up some new center caps up on the way home and they look spanking. The car is due a clean then I'll post up some pics!
I'm very happy now :)
