108's with Normal Tyres (Non Run Flat)

Your advice on tyres please.

My 3.0si Coupe is fitted with 108 split rims and Bridgestone run flats - the tyres tramline and this is very nerve racking mid way round a bend!

Is it possible to fit non run flats to these rims? (michelin pilot supersports) without any issues ie is the rim suitable for non run flats?

Thanks in advance for your advice.... :o

Yes it is possible. I've heard the tyre pressure sensor may cause issues.. but I will allow someone else to confirm.

I have 108's with normal non run flats and it's fine. Much better than original set up. Remember to buy a compressor kit and paste or simply the aerosol jobbie from Halfords as a minimum.

Goodyear On mine.

No issues with tyre pressure indicator or computer or servicing when at BMW or MOT. ITS ALL GOOD.

There is no pressure sensors on UK E85/6. It's all done from the ABS sensor.

Non run flat tyres will be fine. I would bet most 108's have non run flats fitted to them now.

I bought the puncture repair kit from BMW in a lovely compact bag with logo - from memory was about £80-90 ish but was a few years ago for a previous BMW (320d MSport estate when I swapped from run flats).

Worth considering how often you get punctures nowadays - my last puncture was in a MKII Escort Mexico in 1988!!! I would buy a can from Halfords for about a tenner......

It's your call

This is what I keep in my car:

I've used the compressor to check pressures, but thankfully not needed the "slime".

I'm also running 108s with Eagle F1s FYI. And nothing to report but a vastly improved driving experience.

Mine is sooo much better since I ditched the RFT's. I'm on Pirrelli P Zero Rosso's on my 108's.

Non runflats are fine on your 108's,

You wont be able to get Michelin Pilot Super Sports in your standard rear sizes though, so you may have to re think your options or change the rear tyre size. :)

Anyone know what size Michelin Pilot Super Sports would work on the rears?
