108's - Summer set

Hi All,

Already have a set of 108's which could do with a refurb. But rather than do that I thought.....keep them "as is" for winter and get a set refurbed in the spring with a set of tyres so have the best of both.

Question is - are there any "offsets", or other dimensions I need to take into account. As have seen some for sale which don't have any spec details ?

For your car Mike aim for 8/8.5 et 40 front
8.5/9.5j et 40 rear
Don't veer far from those numbers & you will be fine .

Apologies if I'm telling you things you already know but your 108s will be 8J x 18 ET47 fronts and 8.5J x 18 ET50 rears.

Most wheels have these details stamped on the rear face, although BMW put IS rather than ET.

The lower the ET number the further out the wheels will sit in the arches - so ET40 sits 10mm further out than ET50, etc.

Getting 108s refurbed isn't cheap as a proper job involves splitting the rims, but if you can do that yourself it saves some cash.

Anyway good luck finding another set of wheels. Keep checking on here as they appear in the classifieds quite often, especially from mr wilks.
