108 wheel refurb - where near Guildford/Basingstoke ?

I may buy a Z4 over the next few days but typically the wheels need attention, there is corrosion and a bit of kerbing.

A few questions please:

- Where are the best places to get a refurb done in my area (Guildford/Basingstoke) ?
- Should I make sure the wheels are split during refurb ?
- Is mobile a viable option ?
- what should I expect to pay ? "My Alloys" in Basingstoke have given me a rough phone estimate of £105 plus VAT per wheel (including splitting them during refurb) ?

108's MUST be split to do a proper refurb.

£420 for what should be a new set of 108's doesn't seem too bad, providing they are done properly1

If you get them acid dipped or shot blasted (as i would) then you will be looking at £400-£800 imo. Depends how you want them to turn out. But also you can pic up a mint set for around £500 these days.

Many thanks for the quick responses, if I buy the car I will look out for a mint set for a while and then look to refurb/split if no success.

BJV engineering do split rims I'm sure and will be cheaper than the quotes above I'm sure. Google them. They did my CSLs and Sixspeeds. No complaints on their work. Proper strip, dip and rebuild

Factor the wheels into you negotiations - get 500 knocked off!

Or buy my car (shameless plug) that doesn't want for anything (34k, black 3.0 roadster)

or mine, my wheels are only 3-4 months old having been replaced by BMW
