108 Style Rims A big thank you

so after my post of 24 April my 108#s were booked in for refurb yesterday, had arranged to have the lips and inners painted dark grey metallic, but I just couldnt do it, compromise the OEM look and risk the ' so you couldn't have the refurbed proper then' devil n my head voice. Anyway cancelled the refurb for now while I remain unusally indecisive. Q- is there a quick fix for bringing the polished lips back to bright finish without tackling the corrosion? (as this actually isnt so bad after all for now)
Cheers

You can restore the outer lips yourself real easy, just by splitting the rims and buying a metal polishing kit off ebay. Coat of lacquer and they'll look a thousand times better (run a seach on here for some guides) You can do a full refurb later to remove corrosion on the inner parts.

Credit to you for not just burying them in paint

Depends what you wanted. I was just curious if they were still using old stock or onto just the new ones

CJ, just been to the dealer to check my new wheels, and as hoped they are indeed clear lacquered only. :D

Let's just hope that last longer this time. Should help as the car will only be used in the dry now, unless I get caught out.
