108 split rims on a 2.0 SE?

Can anyone tell me if my recently acquired set of 18" 108 wheels will fit directly onto my 2.0i SE? I'm having them refurbed this week and am in the process of ordering tyres and would like to be sure that i'm going to be able to get the wheels on. I'm having to ask as in the accessories brochure it shows the 2.0 sport can have the 108's as an upgrade but the 2.0 SE can't :?
I realise this could be one of the most stupid questions ever on this forum but i just want to be sure before i attempt to get them fitted

By the way, Lotus1 must be one of the most generous human beings i've ever met.
He'd replaced these 108's with a set of AC Schnitzers and i was amazed at his kindness in letting me take his 108's across the street and into my shed. For free! Lotus1, you're a total geezer mate, THANKYOU!

Hmmm don't see why they wouldn't fit OK, seems like a weird brochure status thing - plenty 2.0 have had them on. Thinking about it, there are wheels that you can only get on the SE, and not on the Sport (thinking of 3.0Si here) so I don't believe there's any reason why they wouldn't fit.

Hats off to Lotus1 for the gesture too :hattip:

Thanks for the reply.
That's what i was thinking. I've called the dealers and they said they'd have to get back to me about it
I can't see why they wouldn't fit, but i wanted to be absolutely sure. I mean, it's not as if the 2.0 is any different in size than a 2.2 or a 2.5, etc.

Did I mention I may want them back when I've seen them refurbed :P

Seriously though - pleased to be of assistance and can't wait to see them on the car...should make a huge difference. We'll have to do some group photos when weather permits :camera:

If you're still unsure about the fit, we can throw them on with the old tyres to make sure...just give me a shout.

They are AC Schnitzer Type 4 ... replicas unfortunately but the price was right and they look great. Here's a larger picture:

It will be interesting to see how long they last! I'm very impressed with the non-RFTs, they've totally transformed the handling :)

hahaha, if you want them back you'd better come and ask me with a baseball bat!
I'll be getting the rear wheels back from the refurb shop this weekend (i'll be refurbing the fronts at some point too, but they're not bad at all), and am arranging for new Potenzas to be put on the front wheels this Saturday through blackcircles.com so, all being well, i should have the 108's on the car this weekend  Thanks for the offer though. Oh, and i heard back from BMW, there's no problem with 108's on a 2.0, Hurrah!
I had a bit of a dilemma regarding the tyres though. If all four of the tyres on the wheels you gave me were worn i reckon i would've gone with non-RFT's, but the rear tyres were so good i decided on a matching pair for the fronts. I've read many times on this forum about getting off the RFT's but with me being a newcomer to this whole driving lark i thought i'd go for the easy option for now. When i'm more experienced, and with a more powerful Z4, i'll go for the regular tyres.
Aye! I'm up for getting the polish out and getting my Zed ready for a group pose for the cameras. Lets get this shoddy weather out of the way and maybe we can attempt to give Rick Hunter a run for his money eh? :P

Thanks again mate. I was seriously blown away by your generousity.

I like the look of those or M6 Reps. Are they staggered, I keep looking for staggered setup as that what the 108's are but might be wasting my time. last question where did you get them from?

As you're a Photoshop expert...maybe you can arrange some background mountains...lakes...palm trees or perhaps a volcano or 2 :P ... it's the only way to beat Rick :headbang:

They're not staggered but it really isn't obvious. They were from Ebay...search for 'Wheelbase' and you'll find them.

thanks found them, did you take the tyre package or get your own?

I took the tyre package - I thought that they would be worth a try...if they turned out to be rubbish then they're almost disposable at the price! I've tried them in wet slippery conditions and they seem to perform well so they're staying on
