Hi guys, I'm after 2 bolts, some twit decided to take some bolts off to take the tyres off! Anyhow I'm left with 2 cracked and broken bolts in my wheels, so will need 2 to replace, anyone have a spare couple please? Or where can I get them from?

Thanks

I ended up buying one from ebay, genuine BBS one, did cost me £5 though. Someone must have a scrap 108 alloy with a few spare bolts

A guy is selling whole lot of new ones, he is selling 2 for £4 Inc postage!! Question what oil do I put on them?

Oil???? Did not put any oil on mine. You are talking about the 20 bolts on the split rims.
When i refitted my bolts i used Loctite Blue 242.

Sorry meant glue, joust bought some stuff from halfords. Need to get broken bolt out now but finding it super hard!!

Blue is a good choice else that will be the last time they ever come apart if you use the wrong one

PM responded to about stud extraction

on wheel nuts i always used to us copper slip (think thats what its called)

Tax - stick to your coupe stuff. We're talking about the 20 bolts that hold the 2 parts of a 108 rim together. These need locking.

Copperslip can be used on road wheels but has its own risks as it changes the level of friction and thus torque when wheels are done up.

If you have a broken bolt I wouldnt try and drill/tap/easiout. It will break.
Go to a company that has spark erosion and they will erode it and leave the thread intact.
Try and get it out yourself and the drill will tend to wander and cut into the softer alloy

Interesting, just wondering if all bolts can be removed by this
Machine and then I can break the split rim off ( I think it's been glued aswel) then put new bolts on?

Leon,
In my opinion that rim is scrap for many reasons.
My buddy has a spark eroded but not suitable or needed here as they are best to get studs out and you only need to undo ot with an extractor once the star is off. If you want to try just drill the heads out of the other damaged bolts and then take off the star. Trouble is se previous idiot has epoxy welded the rim together.

Worse case is you pay a specialist £10 per stud times 4 or 5 then damage the rim splitting or.

Buy another for £50 to £100 and be safe and sure.

Experience tells me good money just gets wasted chasing bad.
