Does anyone know how much it cost to have 108 alloys refurbished? Mine are starting to corrode/flake. I've been told they can be quiet expensive to do because they are split rims which are a pain. Been quoted £75 per wheel.

There are the pictures. Any adice/help welcome.

Hmm..

Corroded alloys, that are in need of a total refurb' - perhaps, sooner than later - before the corrosion really eats into the alloy..

As for the quote of £75:
Is that for a total refurbishment and splitting down & then the re-building of the 2 piece rims; Is it a Wet Paint or Powder Coat finish and is the outer lip, being re-diamond cut - to OE spec'?
Does that include VAT; removal and re-fitting of your tyres, then re-balancing etc?

Just, that it seems a little bit on the cheap side, which if your getting the full monty done, is great..

Best of luck, either way..

Not sure if its defo corrosion but it looks like the paint is starting to bubble/flake. Wheels have had slight curbing bit nothing major. Just wanted to know if anyone has had theirs refurbed and how much they paid for them

Wheel Specialist have quoted me £720 (incl.vat) for 4 x 18" split rim 108s .... powder coated ..... yes, really! A set of new ones is over £2k so .....

@OP I would say that quote is pretty good for the time needed for these types of wheel...

Lepsons are something like £95 + VAT a wheel.

But you can save £20 per wheel if you split them yourself... not that hard to do TBH..just takes some time.....

There are very few places I would take a split rim to, I wouldn't even let my usual power coaters near them... but Lepsons would be one of them... in fact they are the only ones I can think of at the moment...

You can get new ones from £1,800 at our friendly BMW dealer.

My 108s looks similar to these in terms of wear & tear.
Pristine Wheels at Woburn quoted me per wheel:
£140 + £20 (To remove tyre) +VAT for diamond cut finish
£120 + £20 + VAT for all over powder coat.
This last Saturday.

If you split them yourself I have a guy that can do them for about £300, but that's not with a polished lip (I prefer all silver anyway).

That's acid dip, sand blast, powder coat, powder lacquer.

Not sure if your anywhere near London mate but the above link does some lovely 108 refurbs on an exchange basis, i.e. You give them your wheels +cost and they give you a fully refurbished set of like for like alloys.

(Their standard 108 style straight swap was quoted at £288 without new tyres when I enquired)

The quality of their work looks excellent and they do some nice colour combinations too, they have lots of 108s as they told me this is their most popular style

Those wheels have been refurbished already as the lip is painted.

£75 seems cheap if they are going to provide a polished lip, which 108's need to look their best.

why not have the whole alloy polished :D
seen somewhere which does whole wheels for like £50 or 60 a wheel.

super blingy

Can't remember his username right now, but if you PM Adamski he'll tell you he had his done last year.
