Will give Sam a bell tomorrow , ideally I wanted a chrome type effect on the rim and standard bmw silver on the inners but I guess this would be a lot more £££ might just do what you have done and have all 16 parts dipped the same colour. Infact since I’ve now split the spare may as well do that too so 18 parts!
My plan is to have a winter set on the 71’s and a summer set on the 108s .
Right now the z4 has some 17” alloys that originally came off my girlfriends 1 series with sunli tyres on ... With normal driving the back end is out with the slightest acceleration seems they are not only cheap crap but also 8 years old looking at the date stamps ! It also is not helping things that my traction control is intermittent due to brake pressure sensor needing to be changed
good fun though ... !

My thoughts exactly, my worry is someone cutting in front of me , stopping distance is definitely increased with these terrible sunew tyres , its quite funny that if you do a bit of tail action and warm them up they get better and grip more.... somehow I dont think plod will take that as an excuse
All the bolts are out of the 108’s with just 1 snapped bolt head out of the 5 wheels.
With regards to the style 71’s I bought these in 2001 new they have never had a refurb or been apart I have removed 3 bolts and find these to feel 3 or 4 times harder to remove than any of the bolts on the 108s , the third bolt head snapped. So I have stopped to apply more wd40.
After snapping one of the bolts on the 108s I went and bought a Clarke cew 1000 electric impact gun this made removing the bolts on the other 3 108s a breeze went through all 3 alloys in about 15 minutes.
Both the manual torque ratchet and Clarke impact gun are struggling with the 71s I don’t want to snap anymore bolts so have stopped for the moment. I saw a YouTube video where someone was applying head to the side with a blowtorch of a 108 . I guess this may be the only way of working on those 71’s?
What’s your method for removing a snapped bolt mr wilks ? There’s plenty of shaft to grab still sticking out the rim , have not attempted to remove yet.
Also which would you use to stop a bolt snapping the impact gun or manual torque wrench? My thought are we are applying a constant force on the manual torque wrench but a hammer action quick force with the impact?
Obviously wouldn’t put an impact anywhere near them for doing up!

Think my favoured method is posted on the forum somewhere but here it is , with the shaft protruding i simply use a small angle grinder to add 2 flat edges being careful not to have the disc touch the rim with a thin piece of metal as a guard , then i turn them out using a spanner , sometimes you may find hitting the shaft sideways gently with a hammer is enough to get things going .
Wow those look stunning mr wilks ! I finally got the style 71s split , turns out that even though the bolts look identical to the bbs used but the alloys are made by chromodora not bbs looking at the back stamps. I found placing a blow torch For 1.5 mins on each bolt alternating opposite sides they came out a lot easier
I just need to somehow Mark now to show which inner belongs to which barrel , stamp some small holes I think
