I had the same problem. When I got the car 2 of the wheels were slightly scuffed, then the Mrs took the car out for a day and all four wheels came back scuffed
Got a quote from a guy who came to take a small dent out of the rear quarter and was told the same thing: 'I can do it, but the outer rim will become the same colour as the innner rim.' for £40/wheel. I asked if he could keep them as the should be and he quoted me........£160/wheel!! WTF??!!?!?!?
Needless to say, I left them as they were. The next week a roof fell on my car and caused cataclysmic damage to the rear and side of the car. Took it to a well trusted indy and he asked if I wanted all the wheels refurbing for £50/wheel, I was dubious so had the convo with him about them being split blah blah. He assured me they would be as good as new ones. Got it back last Fridat and it is in showroom condition
Doubt they will do that colour for the cost, they have had my wheels for 1 week and 1 is still in or repair! So won't be picking up until next week now!!
A question please guys, I split my rims ready for going in for powder coating (2nd set) can they just go in the oven and be sprayed over the bolt holes and lip with no problem and the. Put together ok? Is that what they did to some of you guys that have had them done?
